SILK MOHAIR

SILK MOHAIR

At the heart of everything we create is a simple belief: beauty should never come at the expense of people, animals, or the planet. Each piece we make carries that philosophy - from the choice of fibers to the final hand wash before it’s ready to wear.

Our silk mohair scarf is a perfect example of this approach: timeless in design, consciously made, and crafted to last.

Thoughtfully Sourced Fibers

This scarf brings together two extraordinary yarns - pure Bourette silk and a mohair and Mulberry silk blend . Both are chosen not only for their softness and texture but for the integrity of their origins.

Bourette silk, also known as raw silk, is produced from silk fibers collected after the chrysalises have matured into moths and naturally left their cocoons. No life is harmed in the process. The result is a yarn with a distinctive matte finish and an understated elegance - silk in its most authentic, natural form.

The Mohair and Mulberry silk combines the lightness of the finest Kid Mohair with the subtle sheen of Mulberry silk. The Mohair comes from Angora goats raised in South Africa, where the yarn is also spun and certified under the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS). This ensures that the animals are treated with care, workers are respected, and environmental impact is minimized.

Both yarns are produced with deep attention to sustainability, ethics, and quality - free from harmful chemicals and crafted in mills that prioritize social and environmental responsibility.

How to Care for Your Scarf

Natural fibers deserve gentle care. To keep your scarf soft and beautiful for years to come:

Hand wash in cold water;

Do not wring; instead, gently squeeze out excess water;

Roll it in a clean towel to absorb remaining moisture;

Lay flat to dry, smoothing out any wrinkles.

Each scarf has already been washed after knitting, so it arrives clean, soft, and ready to wear.

A Commitment to Conscious Craftsmanship

This scarf embodies our commitment to slow fashion - creating fewer pieces but with greater meaning. It’s an invitation to reconnect with materials that are made responsibly, to value craftsmanship, and to choose quality that lasts.

When you wear it, we hope you feel the story it carries: of ethical production, gentle care, and the beauty of something made with intention.
